Time Investment and Progression Stages
Beginner Stage
Day 1: Most beginners are in the water on their very first day. This session focuses on learning kite control, launching, landing, and understanding the fundamentals of body dragging. These essential skills build confidence and prepare students for the next stage.
Day 2: By the second day, students progress to water starts, practicing getting up on the board and experiencing their first short rides. As they grow comfortable, rides become longer and more controlled, setting the stage for basic turns.
Intermediate Stage
Hours 5-10: Students focus on improving their consistency with longer rides and begin working on staying upwind. With guidance and practice, an athletic student can achieve upwind riding within 10 hours of instruction. Mastering this stage is a crucial milestone in becoming an independent kiteboarder.
Advanced Stage
After achieving upwind riding, students refine their skills by practicing smooth transitions, controlled turns, and advanced maneuvers such as carving. They may also begin exploring techniques like jumping, riding in waves, or transitioning to foilboarding.
