Maui’s North Shore is famous for its consistent trade winds, warm waters, and shallow launch zones — perfect for learning windsurfing. The North Shore is on the windward side of the island and catches the north-easterly trade winds. The North Shore is the home to a variety of wind sports. Kanaha Beach, in particular, has a protected coastal zone with a sandy bottom and no shorebreak, making it the ideal location for beginners and intermediates to progress quickly and safely.

Windsurfing Lesson Options

Beginner Windsurfing Lessons
Our introductory lessons are perfect for first-time windsurfers. Lessons begin with a land-based safety briefing and wind theory, followed by step-by-step instruction on how to handle the sail, balance on the board, and begin maneuvering on the water. We use stable beginner boards and light sails that are matched to your size and ability. Ideal for focused one-on-one training

Private Windsurfing Instruction
For students looking for a more focused learning experience, we offer private instruction with personalized coaching. This option is ideal for those looking to improve quickly or work on specific skills such as upwind sailing, harness use, beach starts, or transitions.

Youth and Kids Lessons
We provide specialized instruction for children and young teens using scaled-down equipment. Lessons are paced appropriately to build confidence, coordination, and water safety awareness. Neoprene booties and flotation devices are provided for added protection and support.

What’s Included

All lessons include use of windsurfing boards, sails, mast and boom, harness (if applicable), rashguards, and PFDs. We provide appropriately sized equipment for each student based on height, weight, and wind conditions. Our instructors may also use waterproof radios or paddle support to maintain safety and communication while students are on the water.

Safety and Certification

Our instructors are experienced, CPR/First Aid certified, and trained to teach windsurfing in real Maui conditions. Safety is our top priority. All lessons take place in shallow, reef-protected zones, and students are never left unattended on the water.

Scheduling and Pricing
